Officers of the Russian Federal Security Service's (FSB) border department for the Rostov region promptly completed all border formalities for a Ukrainian van carrying children and three cars carrying refugees that came under fire on Ukrainian territory.
"While crossing the border, a van carrying children and three cars came under fire on Ukrainian territory. While they were crossing the Russian section of the border, border guards from the FSB border department for the Rostov region promptly conducted document check and border control formalities at a safe place. None of the refugees was harmed," a spokesman for the border department for the Rostov region told Interfax.
The van's and the cars' passengers are currently in absolute safety on Russian territory, he said.
