Train services have ground to a halt after unknown persons blew up a section of a rail bridge just outside of the town of Orekhov in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhya region, the local branch of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said in a press release.
The police were alerted about the incident at 2:20 a.m. last night.
The region's high-ranking police officers, detectives, explosives experts, K9 service units, criminologists and investigators are working at the scene. A criminal investigation opened into the explosion will be handled by the Security Service of Ukraine.
No one was killed or injured as a result of the incident, which, however, totally paralyzed train services at that section, according to media reports.
Non-electrified railroad lines cross Orekhov, linking Zaporizhzhya with Berdyansk, Mariupol and Donetsk. The town of Orekhov is located 63 kilometers east of Zaporizhzhya, on the banks of the Konka River.
