The National Bank of South Ossetia will open an account to provide financial assistance to residents of southeastern Ukraine, who were affected by battle actions, the South Ossetian presidential and governmental press office told Interfax on Wednesday.
"Funds collected to help refugees from the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics will be wired here. Some agencies of South Ossetia have already expressed a wish to transfer one-day salary of employees for these purposes," the press office said.
Earlier in June South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov signed decrees on recognizing the independence of self pro-claimed Lugansk People's Republic and Donetsk People's Republic.
