One person was killed and two more were wounded in Russia's Rostov region by a shell flying from Ukrainian territory and hitting a house in the town of Donetsk, Interfax was told in local law enforcement.
"A shell from Ukrainian territory hit a house in district 20 of the town of Donetsk, Rostov region. As a result one man staying in the house was killed, two more were wounded, but this is tentative information," a source said.
The source said that it is the first time since the beginning of hostilities in Ukraine that a Ukrainian shell caused loss of life and injuries in Russian territory. The circumstances are being clarified.
The source said it was a mortar shell that exploded in a private homestead.
