Around 15,000 women and 2,000 children die in Russia every year as a result of family conflicts, member of the presidential human rights council Natalia Yevdokimova said at a meeting on Tuesday.
"Up to 40 percent violent actions occur in Russian within family, not outside it," Yevdokimova said.
Around 15,000 women died in domestic conflicts annually, she said.
"About 2,000 children died of domestic violence," Yevdokimova said.
