Bolivia is waiting to begin cooperation with Russian oil major Rosneft, Bolivian President Evo Morales said.

"We expect Rosneft will arrive in our country," Morales said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

He noted that Russia and Bolivia had already started cooperation in the gas sector. "We are working together with Gazprom (MOEX: GAZP) in a deposit project," Morales said.

In turn, Putin called for substantive trade and economic relations with Bolivia. "Your country is a major gas producer and I know that our companies have taken initial steps towards joint work. Other companies of ours have demonstrated an interest in your country's energy machine market," the Russian president said.

These cooperation projects will create new jobs and foster the economy, he added.

"By the way, you have a complex political schedule. I wish you success in the upcoming presidential election," Putin told Morales.
