Court arrests two suspects in Moscow metro tragedy

The Basmanny District Court in Moscow has sanctioned the arrest of Moscow metro track technician Valery Bashkatov and his aide Yury Gordov on the suspicion of involvement in the Tuesday Moscow metro accident that claimed 22 lives, an Interfax correspondent reported from the court room.

On July 15 three carriages, including the first one were derailed on the Slavyansky Boulevard and Park Pobedy stretch of the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya or the so-called 'dark blue' line during the morning rush hour. The accident claimed 22 lives, 217 were injured of whom 150 were hospitalized.
