Local residents said the city was intensely shelled overnight, which caused more destruction and fires; in particular, they said the Epicenter hypermarket in the eastern part of the city was on fire.

Only vital necessities are currently available in city stores, and there are shortages of medicines and fuel.

All banks in the city have been closed, and no pensions, salaries, or social allowances are being paid now.

The news agency Novorussia reported on Saturday that an airstrike delivered by Ukrainian government forces destroyed a plant in the community of Krasnodon in the Lugansk region. "The Ukrainian forces delivered an airstrike upon the municipal community of Krasnodon in the Lugansk People's Republic. The Avtoahrehat plant has been destroyed," it said.
