"Proceeding from Russian President Vladimir Putin's call on the leaders of illegal armed groups in Donbas to cease fire and sign a protocol at the meeting of the trilateral contact group on the implementation of the Ukrainian president's peace plan, I am issuing an order to the chief of staff of the Ukrainian armed forces for a ceasefire starting from 6:00 p.m. on September 5," Poroshenko's statement says.
