The EU continuing the sanctions policy is an absolutely unfriendly step, which contradicts the interests of all parties, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said at a briefing in Moscow.

The EU continuing the sanctions policy is an absolutely unfriendly step, which contradicts the interests of all parties, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said at a briefing in Moscow.

"We will see if this decision [to introduce additional sanctions regarding Russia] has been made indeed. But as we have said already and commented, this is an absolutely unfriendly line, which contradicts the EU\'s interests as well," Lukashevich said.

At many levels the political leadership of Russia "has made it clear that we will take adequate measures respectively and our response will measure the damage which these sanctions inflict on economies of our countries," Lukashevich said.

Lukashevich said he would comment on new sanctions in detail after they are released.
