Oil company Lukoil President Vagit Alekperov is hopeful that AFK Sistema head Vladimir Yevtushenkov will soon be released on bail at the very least.

"I hope that everything will be sorted out because a person like Vladimir Petrovich Yevtushenkov could not have committed these actions (…) We are all analyzing this situation today and are looking forward to this issue being resolved as soon as possible. I believe that a decision may be made to release him on bail at the very least. All members of the RUIE [Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs] Bureau have requested that this man be released under their guarantees," Alekperov told the Rossiya-24 television station.

Yevtushenkov "is the author of numerous legislative initiatives, has participated in many spheres of business, has always enjoyed the huge respect of the entire business community, as well as having coordinated relations with the Arab world," he said.
