About 130,000 Muslims took part in outdoor celebrations of the Eid al-Adha (Kurban Bayrami) holiday in Moscow on Saturday, the city police authority said.
"This included about 50,000 people who gathered outside the Moscow Cathedral Mosque and about as many outside the Memorial Mosque in Poklonnaya Gora," a spokesman for the authority told Interfax.
He denied there had been excesses or emergencies. "Moscow police ensured public order and complete security for people," he said.
