President Vladimir Putin has signed into law a bill to prohibit nighttime demonstrations or rallies.
Under changes to Article 9 of the law "On Meetings, Rallies, Demonstrations, Processions, and Pickets," a public event cannot commence before 07:00 hours or terminate after 22:00 hours local time. However, the amended version of the article makes an exception for events marking historical dates or cultural events.
The amended version of the law was posted on Russia's main legal information portal on Monday.
