The party Civil Platform intends to return to active politics and businessman Mikhail Prokhorov may head it again, Rifat Shaikhutdinov, chairman of the party's federal political committee, said in an interview published in Monday's edition of Izvestia.
"Yes, he could do it any moment," Shaikhutdinov said, responding to a question as to whether Prokhorov may lead the party again.
"But I think a decision on this matter will be made in 2016, when we understand how we will run in the State Duma elections. We are now thinking about it and we are experimenting with various forms," he said.
At the same time, Shaikhutdinov reiterated that Prokhorov needs to decide on his Western assets before heading up the party.
Shaikhutdinov said Civil Platform plans to hold a congress in November. He said the date of the congress has not been determined yet.
"The main task of the congress is to approve a program to prepare the party for 2016, which will be divided into two parts. In 2015, we will have a big regional expedition around the country, in which mass events will be conducted to determine and adjust our program for the State Duma elections and select the people who will run. In 2016, we will form specific public projects with which we will run," Shaikhutdinov said.
