The ruble has plummeted to new all-time lows against the dollar and euro in early trading on the Moscow Exchange on Thursday.
The ruble is falling heavily against the bi-currency basket, which has risen above the Central Bank's intervention levels amid speculation over the outlook for the regulator's exchange-rate policy.
The dollar was trading at 43.35 rubles/$1 after the two minutes of trading, 15 kopecks above previous closing.
The euro began the day at 54.82 rubles/EUR1, 19 kopecks above the previous close.
The bi-currency basket ($0.55 and EUR0.45) was up 17 kopecks in value to 45.51 rubles.
