A new Russian federal space program for 2016-2025 will be submitted to the government in December, Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) head Oleg Ostapenko said.
"I cannot disclose a precise program budget so far because this program has not been fully coordinated. I will be ready to present specific figures and things this money will finance after the program is approved. The program is in the process of coordination at a federal agency and I expect the new document will be presented to the Russian government in December," he said at Airshow China 2014 in Zhuhai.
A super-heavy-lift rocket project will be included in the new program, he added. "Yes, we have mentioned it there," Ostapenko said, answering a question about the super-heavy-lift launch vehicle.
Kommersant wrote on Wednesday, quoting sources in the rocket and space industry, that the draft 2025 Federal Space Program stipulated total allocations of 2.436 trillion rubles in the period until 2025, which was three times larger than funds allotted for the Federal Space Program in 2006-2015.
