Gazprom Media Board Chairman Mikhail Lesin is ready to consider a proposal from the Echo of Moscow radio minority shareholders on selling them a controlling stake belonging to Gazprom Media, Echo of Moscow Editor-in-Chief Alexei Venediktov said.
"Mikhail Lesin said at a meeting with the editorial board [on Tuesday] that, if the minority shareholders make a proposal on buying out the controlling stake in Echo of Moscow, then Gazprom Media will consider this proposal if an appropriate price is offered," Venediktov told journalists on Tuesday.
Venediktov said he would meet with the other minority shareholders and analyze the market in the near future.
"We will send an offer on purchasing the stake in writing to Lesin," Venediktov said, adding that this will be done even if he is dismissed as editor-in-chief.
"Regardless of whether I remain editor-in-chief, I will remain a shareholder," he said.
