Lavrov, Zarif discuss progress on Iran-Sextet agreement

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif have met in Vienna to address the resolution of differences between Iran and the P5+1 group.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif have met in Vienna to address the resolution of differences between Iran and the P5+1 group.

"The situation at the negotiations on the comprehensive settlement of the issue of the Iranian nuclear program has been discussed in detail. Emphasis has been placed on the search for solutions to major disputable issues which are hindering the elaboration of decisions at the negotiations. The parties have had an extensive exchange of opinions on possible steps towards settling the differences and the soonest possible achievement of results, which will satisfy all the negotiating parties," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a report posted on Facebook.

The ministers agreed that the resolution of the problem would contribute to global and regional security.
