Moscow's Gorky Park listed in Instagram's top five geotagged places in the world

Photo-sharing service and social network reveals its most popular destinations in 2014

Gorky Park and Red Square were among the world’s top 10 most popular geotagged destinations on Instagram in 2014, according to Australian website Traveller.com.au.

Gorky Park took fifth place in the ranking, while Red Square came seventh. This is the first time Russian sites have made it into Instagram’s top 10 list. Last year’s list was less diverse – eight of the 10 locations were in the United States, and the first and ninth locations were in Bangkok.

The walls of Instagram filled up with pictures from Moscow, Paris, and Dubai in 2014. Disneyland in California was the most popular place in the world for Instagrammers. It was followed by Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Times Square in New York, the Siam Paragon shopping mall in Bangkok, Gorky Park in Moscow, the Louvre in Paris, Red Square in Moscow, Madison Square Garden in New York, Yankee Stadium in New York, and the Dubai Mall in the UAE.
