Narendra Modi tweets in Russian to welcome Vladimir Putin

After the Russian President landed in Delhi, the Indian Prime Minister posted three Russian tweets.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted three tweets to welcome Russian President Vladimir Putin, once the latter landed in Delhi. 

"Delighted to welcome President Putin to India. Looking forward to a productive visit that will take India-Russia ties to newer heights," Modi said his first tweet.

"The bond between the people of Russia & India is very strong. Our nations have stood by each other through thick and thin,"he said in the second.

In the last tweet, Modi said, "Times have changed, our friendship has not. Now, we want to take this relation to the next level & this visit is a step in that direction." 

The 15th annual India-Russia summit begins in Delhi at 11:00 am.
