Russia resumed flights of its strategic bombers is in response to flights of U.S. Air Force strategic airplanes in the vicinity of the country's borders, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at his annual press conference in Moscow on Thursday.
"At the beginning of the 1990s, Russia stopped all Soviet-era strategic aviation missions in remote patrol districts. But American strategic airplanes with nuclear weapons on board continued to fly there. What for? Against whom? Whom did they threaten?" he said.
