Moscow's population increased in the past few years and reached 12.1 million people by January 1, 2014, the note says.

The Moscow mayor's office said the tendency in which the number of births exceeds the number of deaths will persist in Moscow until 2017.

The number of births will be 10-12 percent higher than the number of deaths.

At the same time, the forecast is that the number of people of 'an able-bodied' age will decrease by some 10,000 annually in 2015-2017 due to the reduction of the immigration population increase and the negative demographic tendencies.
