PM Medvedev to represent Russia at memorial services in Saudi Arabia

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to represent Russia at memorial services for late King Abdallah bin Abd al-Aziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will represent Russia at memorial services in Saudi Arabia at the order of President Putin," Peskov told Interfax on Friday.

He said the date of the Russian prime minister's trip to Saudi Arabia had yet to be set.

King Abdallah of Saudi Arabia, 90, died early on Friday morning. His brother, Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, will be the new King.
