The Republic Day of India was marked at an auspicious function replete with colourful cultural programme jointly organised by the Russian Centre of Science and Culture (RCSC) and the International Federation of Indo-Russian Youth Clubs.

The lighting of the traditional lamp to the accompaniment of the chanting of Mantras heralded a magnificent cultural programme showcased by institutions such as Darshan Vidhyalaya, Satyug Darshan Public School, Haryana. D.P.S. Dwarka, Greenways Public School, Dilshad Garden, Moving Souls Salsa Group, Nrityam Society, Sudesh Group and Swar Sarita Group.

The audience was extensively fascinated by the spectacular performance by the cultural groups, in particular, the patriotic songs like “Maa Tujhe Salam & Vande Matram”, “Desh Mera Rangeela”, “Life is a Dance”, etc. The Russian dance presented by the students of DPS Dwarka deeply impressed the Russian guests among the gathering. The Jazz and Bollywood fusion item was really rocking, and the “Hip-Hop & Freestyle” mixed performance by the Sudesh Group trilled the gathering. The truly classic Bharatnatyam dance presentation by Natasha, a disciple of Guru Padma Sampathkumaran, immensely excited the audience. The performers received constant ovation and resonant applause from the audience.

The event was attended by Major Dalbir Singh, Secretary, All-India Congress Committee, Dr. B. R. L. Madhukar, Secretary-General, BRICS Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Ms. Purnima Anand, President, International Federation of Indo-Russian Youth Clubs, Mr. Jasbir Nischal, Secretary-General, Indian Association of Friendship with Foreign Countries, Ms. Nana M. Mgeladze, Counsellor, Embassy of the Russian Federation in India, Ms. Tatiana Seliverstova, International Head of Russian Union of Youth, Guru Padma Sampathkumaran, and an elite gathering comprising art-lovers, media persons, Russian language teachers and students, Russian compatriots, etc.
