FIFA is not concerned by Russia's decision to cut the budget for hosting the FIFA 2018 World Cup.

FIFA is aware of the Russian government's decision to reduce federal budget spending linked with preparations for the 2018 World Cup and is not concerned that it may have any impact on the delivery of infrastructure required for the championship, a FIFA spokesman told Interfax.

Furthermore, the budget of the 2018 World Cup organizing committee will be fully covered by FIFA, which did the same in 2010 and 2014, he said.

Earlier, Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko announced a 10 percent cut in the budget for staging the FIFA 2018 World Cup in the country.
