Preparations continue ahead of the planned Normandy format meeting of the leaders of Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, on February 11, the Russian president's press secretary Dmitry Peskov has said.
"Preparations are under way," Peskov was quoted as saying by the Russian News Service radio station.
The press secretary, however, declined to comment on the current stage of preparations for the event or provide further details.
Minsk is expected to host a Normandy format summit on February 11.
The political directors of the Normandy format member states met in Berlin on Monday as part of preparations for the planned event.
The Contact Group, which includes representatives of Ukraine, Russia, the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe is expected to meet in Minsk on Tuesday. The Russian Embassy in Minsk did not rule out that Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov may attend these talks.
