The Belarusian Foreign Ministry has invited foreign members of the press who have filed applications to cover the upcoming meeting between the leaders of the Normandy Quartet (France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine) in Minsk to arrive at the Independence Palace by 3:00 p.m. local time.
There have been certain indications that some 400 foreign journalists planned to cover the Normandy Quartet summit in Minsk on February 11.
The French, German, Russian, and Ukrainian leaders had agreed at the end of last week to meet in Minsk in the Normandy format to discuss ways to settle the Ukraine crisis.
The Elysee Palace reported on Wednesday that French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel decided to travel to Minsk to attend the talks. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko had earlier declared the same intention.
