Days of Russian Language, Literature and Culture Marked at the RCSC in New Delhi

The Russian Centre of Science and Culture (RCSC) in New Delhi, jointly with the Centre of Russian Language Teachers’ Training Centre and the Institute of Russian Language, organised the traditional annual Days of Russian Language, Literature and Culture dedicated to 70th Anniversary of the Victory over fascism in the Great Patriotic War (1941—1945) on January 10-12, 2015.

The Russian Centre of Science and Culture (RCSC) in New Delhi, jointly with the Centre of Russian Language Teachers’ Training Centre and the Institute of Russian Language, organised the traditional annual Days of Russian Language, Literature and Culture dedicated to 70th Anniversary of the Victory over fascism in the Great Patriotic War (1941—1945) on January 10-12, 2015.

The programme, constituting the Days, comprised Essay Writing, Quiz, Translation, Poster-Making, Competition on Russian Costumes, Dance and Songs, Poetry Reciting, Olympiad, National Games, Master Classes, followed by traditional Russian tea with pan cakes.

The commendable performance by the Indian students sent across a clear signal that they possess ardent interest and high enthusiasm not only in mastering Russian language but also in grasping the Russian art, culture and history. The way in which the students recited the poetry and rendered the song with amazing diction, intonation, pronunciation, etc., literally moved the Jury members. The event proved to be an evident testimony to the growing interest in India’s younger generation to strengthen their knowledge about Russia and learn more about Russia demonstrating a better prospect on bilateral relations in the years to come. Besides the regular participants, the new entries presented excellent performance in every items thereby gaining great appreciation from the Jury.

The participants of the junior category of students at the event on February 10 were from Bluebells School International, Cambridge International School, DPS Indirapuram, DPS, Noida, DPS Faridabad, S.L.S D.A.V. Public School, DLF School, Indraprastha International School, Dwarka, Shri Ram Global School and Genesis Global School. Around 200 students took part in the competitions.

The participants of the senior category of students at the event on February 11 were Amity University, Haryana, Amity University, U.P., Delhi University, Jamia Millia Islamia, IGNOU, Dr. B. R. Ambadkar University, Agra, C.C.S. University, Meerut, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, and the Institute of the Russian Language, RCSC.

About 150 students took part in the competitions.

The prize-winning successful candidates were presented with Trophies, Certificates and Russian Souvenirs. The Chief member of jury Prof. Ramadhikari Kumar, President, Indian Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (INDAPRYAL), gave away the prizes.
