DNR claims Ukrainian army reopens fire on Dokuchaievsk, Horlivka, Donetsk suburbs

The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic Defense Ministry has accused Kiev of breaching the truce.

The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) Defense Ministry has accused Kiev of breaching the truce.

“Twenty-seven violations of the ceasefire regime have been recorded over the past 24 hours, including bombardments of Dokuchaievsk, Donetsk and Horlivka," Eduard Basurin of the Defense Ministry of the DNR told reporters.

Two people were injured in Dokuchaievsk and possible casualties in Horlivka are being verified. "Three districts were shelled there and projectiles hit an Emergency Situations Ministry base," he said.

The DNR continues to evacuate people from endangered areas, Basurin said.

"Approximately 30 residents were evacuated from Lohvynove yesterday. Rescuers from our Emergency Situations Ministry moved them inland," he said.

"The Azov and Dnipro battalions made a breakthrough attempt in the Shyrokyne area [the Mariupol sector] last night; the enemy lost one man and 90 were injured. Besides, a convoy has tired to break through in Debaltsevo. Their attempt was also deterred. The Ukrainian army opened gunfire in that area," Eduard Basurin of the Defense Ministry of the DNR told reporters.

According to the militia, the Ukrainian army group had been growing in the Debaltsevo sector. The DNR believes provocations may be staged by Kiev in order to disrupt the truce.

"As far as we know, the army operation command has stealthily moved artillery towards Artemivsk, Myronivskyi, Svitlodarsk and Lugansk. There is the Ukrainian and foreign press there and we are suspecting armed provocations may be staged to thwart the Minsk agreements," Basurin said.
