Russia and India get down to constructing test FGFA models

Russia and India get to the stage of construction of the first experimental samples of the joint Indo-Russian project – the fifth generation fighter jet (FGFA), Sergei Goreslavsky, Deputy General Director of the enterprise, said in his interview to the news agency RIA Novosti.

Goreslavsky heads the “Rosoboronexport” delegation at the upcoming Aero India-2015 Show, which is to be held in Bangalore on February 18. 

The work on FGFA models is conducted in accordance with the provisions of the intergovernmental agreement. The first stage on working out a draft technical project is already completed. The first test airplane is to be constructed after 2018.

“Now we are finalizing the contract negotiation for the following stages. Including, development of construction documentation, building test models, conducting tests and certification,” Goreslavsky said. Technical issues are resolved, and we are finalizing commercial parameters of the contract.”
