Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the Interior Ministry to improve the resolution of crimes and to give close attention to politically motivated crimes.
"Russia must be finally freed from tragedies like the one we have just seen and experienced, i.e. the brazen murder of Boris Nemtsov right in the center of the capital city," Putin said at a meeting of the Interior Ministry Board.
"First and foremost, it is necessary to improve the resolution of crimes, both recent and those committed in the previous years. We really need a breakthrough, a new quality of work of the Interior Ministry and the entire law enforcement system. We should pay close attention to high-profile crimes, including those politically motivated," Putin said.
The line of people wishing to bid farewell to murdered politician Boris Nemtsov is a kilometer long. Thousands of people have come to the funeral service for Nemtsov at the Sakharov Center in Moscow.
Up to 70,000 people attend march to commemorate slain Kremlin critic.
