BRICS countries should consider creating a powerful news agency, announced Sergey Markov, a member of Russia’s Civic Chamber on Thursday.
“Understanding of each other takes place through the mass media and through specialist institutions. We have an extremely bad situation here,” he said during an open discussion entitled BRICS: Prospects for cooperation and development.
According to Markov, BRICS countries learn of each other exclusively through English speaking mass media.
“Therefore, there should be a solution, I would suggest, if there is unity, there is the political will, to establish a single, powerful, international news agency with BRICS resources”, said the member of the Civic Chamber.
