The Supreme Commander of NATO Allied Command Operations in Europe U.S. Army Gen. Philip Breedlove has said that there was no possibility at present to confirm the removal of heavy weapons by Donbass militias.
Speaking to a weekly news program aired on the Ukrainian national television channel last Sunday, he said that while NATO does see heavy artillery being moved on both sides of the dividing line, it still does not know what is happening to artillery east of this line because observers from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) are not being allowed in there.
What NATO sees is weapons being moved, but whether they are being moved back or simply re-positioned in preparation for new hostilities is unclear, Breedlove said.
