Ukrainian government forces have violated the truce in the Donbass region of southeastern Ukraine 25 times over the past 24 hours, according to sources in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR).

"We have registered 25 violations over the past 24 hours. Almost all of them near the Donetsk Airport and the adjacent area. There were also four attacks in Horlivka and two in Shyrokyne. In addition to mortars and small arms, tank guns were also fired," DNR deputy defense minister Eduard Basurin told Interfax.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian military claim that members of the DNR and LNR militias opened fire 16 times overnight, with the heaviest fighting in the area around Donetsk. "Last night the village of Peski was the most hit, having been fired at with the enemy's grenades and mortars three times; other populated areas under attack included Opytnoye, Krasnohorivka, and Vodyanoye," the press center for the military operation in eastern Ukraine said on Facebook. "The city of Avdiivka was attacked twice with artillery between 4:15 a.m. and 4:35 a.m., and Opytnoye struck by hostile weapons at 3 a.m."
