India's ONGC is currently in talks with Russian oil companies about buying stakes in two oil fields in Siberia, as reported by Bloomberg with reference to ONGC.

In particular, the negotiations are held by the company ONGC Videsh Ltd, OVL (ONGC subsidiary, working in Russia).

As reported by TASS earlier, at the end of last year «Rosneft» has signed an agreement with a subsidiary of CNPC to sell 10% share stake in «Vankorneft». The deal has not been concluded yet. It was also reported about the interest of the Indian ONGC to have a share in this project.

Through its subsidiary OVL, ONGC owns Imperial Energy group, bought in January 2009. It consists of a group of independent companies operating in the Tomsk region, including oil and gas companies - LLC «Nord Imperial» and LLC «Allianceneftegaz».
