Work of UK military instructors in Ukraine not aiding peace process - Russian ambassador

The decision to deploy UK military instructions in Ukraine will negatively affect efforts to settle the conflict in the south-east of Ukraine, Russian Ambassador to London Alexander Yakovenko has said.

"Deployment of #UK military instructors in #Ukraine unlikely to contribute to peaceful settlement of the conflict," Yakovenko wrote on Twitter on Friday.

The BBC reported on Thursday, citing its own sources, that 35 UK military instructors had started to train the Ukrainian army. The UK specialists are working in Ukraine's southern city of Mykolayiv and will spend about two months in the country, the BBC said.
