Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on conscripting 150,145 people in the period between April 1, 2015 and July 15, 2015.
The decree also orders the discharge from military service of soldiers, seamen, sergeants and sergeant-majors whose military service by conscription has ended.
The decree orders the Russian government, the executive administrations of the Russian regions and conscription commissions to ensure the fulfillment of events associated with the conscription.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed into law the bill 'On the Strength of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' passed by the parliament on March 5. The bill sets the maximum number of Armed Forces personnel at 250,000 with 204,000 of them military servicemen.
The law published on the president's website said that "the strength of the Armed Forces would grow in special periods with men recruited for military service under mobilization acts."
The law's explanatory note says that the strength of the army needs to be regulated for the purpose of national defense and protection of the Ukrainian sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability by the Armed Forces.
