India and Russia will strengthen ties in the information and broadcasting sector. This information journalist learned on Wednesday from Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Indian Minister of Media and Broadcasting after a meeting with Russian Minister of Communications and Mass Media Nikolai Nikiforov, who is in New Delhi on a two-day working visit.
“Together with our Russian colleague, today we agreed to strengthen bilateral ties in the information and broadcasting sector, encourage the exchange of public and private media as well as to work together in the social networks,” said Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore. “Russia and India will be able to benefit greatly from cooperation in the Internet space, in television broadcasting, and in the social networks. Another good idea is travelling for the exchange of experiences between leading media and students studying in television and cinema programs at higher educational institutions.”
According to the Minister, on the proposal of the Russian side, during the upcoming BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) Summit in Ufa, the five participants will actively discuss the issue of coordinating efforts in the information and broadcasting sector.
