The BRICS countries at the Ufa summit may formulate a common position on the situation in Ukraine, announced Vadim Lukov, Special Envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Representative of the Russian President on the BRICS issues, and MFA’s coordinator on G-20 issues.
“At the BRICS Summit in Fortaleza in Brazil last year, member countries approved the formulation of paragraph within the general declaration. The essence of our common position is that the conflict in Ukraine must be solved exclusively by political means, within the framework of international law, with respect for human rights and the territorial integrity of Ukraine. I think that these principles will be incorporated in the position that the BRICS countries will adopt in the upcoming Ufa Summit,” he announced at a press conference at MIA Russia Today.
