The Russian President's Press Secretary, Dmitry Peskov, while choosing not to comment on an article in the Time magazine, which named Vladimir Putin as the most influential person on the planet, said he was certain that the head of state is one of the most respected politicians in the world.

"I would probably be unable to give any qualified assessment to it. That the president is one the most popular, famous and respected politicians in the world is obvious. Several print media outlets have acknowledged this leadership. This, too, is an obvious fact," Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.

On Monday the Time magazine published the official findings of a poll, in which its readers placed President Putin at the top of the list of the most influential people on the Earth.
