Russia expects a portion of resources of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank will be allocated to finance joint projects with participation of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member-nations, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Stanislav Voskresenskiy said on Tuesday.

Russia officially became the founding member of AIIB, a new international financial institution established to promote financial interaction in the Asia-Pacific. The bank with the capital totaling $50 bln at the first stage will start working at the turn of 2015.

"We hope a portion of bank’s resources will be directed to funding of joint development projects of the Eurasian Economic Union and China," the deputy minister said.

Specific parameters of Russia’s participation in AIIB "will be discussed," Voskresenskiy said.
