U.S. drones - Northrop Grumman RQ-4 Global Hawk unmanned surveillance aircraft - have been making regular flights over the Black Sea since January 2015, and in March "they first appeared in Ukrainian air space," a senior Russian general said on Thursday.
"The use of such UAVs [unmanned aerial vehicles] enlarges the potential surveillance depth of Russian territory by between 250 and 300 kilometers," Lt. Gen. Andrei Kartapolov, head of operations at the Russian armed forces general staff, told an international security conference in Moscow.
