The finance ministers and central bankers of the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) at their first meeting held under Russia's chairmanship, agreed that global economy growth, based on economic growth in the U.S. and the UK, was unstable.
"In the run-up to the meeting of the G20 finance ministers we discussed the global economy. We were united in the opinion that growth, primarily based on growth in the U.S. and the UK, is fairly fragile," Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov told journalists upon the conclusion of the BRICS meeting. The growth, he said, is mainly connected with monetary factors.
