A prototype launch vehicle launched from the Plesetsk Space Center on Wednesday has fallen in the Arkhangelsk region, a source in emergency situation services told Interfax.
"The rocket launch has been unsuccessful. It flew over a distance of approximately ten kilometers and fell near the village of Zabolotye in the Arkhangelsk region," he said.
The National Crisis Management Center told Interfax the fuel of the missile poses no threat to the population.
"This accident poses no threat to residents or environmental safety. The fuel of the missile poses no threat to people's life and health. The missile did not have any hazardous components or substances," the source said. The source also said there was no fire or explosion. The source added that the area was scarcely populated.
