Over 700 foreign troops to take part in Red Square parade

Over 700 foreign military service members will take part in the military parade in Moscow on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Russian Ground Force Commander-in-chief Col. Oleg Salyukov said.

"Ten 732-troop parade teams are expected from each of the foreign states which have confirmed their participation in the parade," he told senior defense officials on Friday.

The foreign teams will arrive at a training site in Alabino on April 25 to prepare for the parade, and will leave Russia on May 10, he said.

More than 15,000 personnel and over 190 weapons and army vehicles will take part in the parade, he said.

"A total of 15,440 people will participate in the parade in honor of the 70th anniversary of the Victory, including representatives from foreign armies, as well as 190 weapons and military vehicles and 143 aircraft," he said.

The parade scenario will consist of the historical and modern parts, Salyukov said.
