CNN resumes broadcasting in Russia on Tricolor network

"On April 29, 2015, Russia's largest digital TV operator, Tricolor TV, began broadcasting CNN International," the statement said

After obtaining a universal broadcasting license in late March CNN continued broadcasting in Russia, and Tricolor TV network included the channel in its basic package.

"The television channel is available on Tricolor TV in the operator's Yediny (One) basic package. To view the television channel, the list of channels in the receiver's interface needs to be updated. In the general list of television channels CNN is number 66 or number 91, depending on the equipment model," the press release authors said.

The company recalled that CNN is yet another television channel in Tricolor TV's line of foreign-language channels. The first foreign television channels appeared in the operator's package in the spring of 2012.

Tricolor TV Content Director Mikhail Goryachev said: "CNN is not only a world-famous television channel with audiences of 392 million households, it is also a television channel that was the world's first to broadcast 24/7."

According to the company, at the end of the first quarter of 2015, the company had a total audience of 11.01 million Russian households.
