Festival held in India to celebrate 70th anniversary of victory over fascism

A Russian-Indian festival of children and youth art to mark the 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) took place in India.

A Russian-Indian festival of children and youth art to mark the 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) took place in India.

The event was held at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in New Delhi on April 27, 2015. The function was jointly organised by the Russian Centre of Science and Culture, Delhi University, Jamia Millia Islamia, Institute of Russian Language, RCSC, Centre of Russian Language Teachers’ Training, Russian Embassy School, Children of Russian Compatriots and DPS Dwarka.

The programme comprised “Memorial Week” at the Institute of Russian Language, exhibition of children’s painting and students’ posters “Nobody is forgotten and nothing is forgotten”, “Lessons of courage and fortitude” for the children of Russian compatriots, and concert “The world is aware who saved it”.

Song and poetry recital, presenting video and documentary materials were parts of the programme as well. The children who participated in the programmes were presented with books, certificates of merits and Russian souvenirs. The highlight of the programme was the exhibition of works by the students of Russian Embassy School on the war heroes and their exploits which moved the audience.
