The website of the Russian Investigative Committee was attacked by hackers on Friday, the Investigative Committee has reported.

"The official website of the Russian Investigative Committee was broken into at 9:04 a.m. today. Unidentified individuals posted on the Investigative Committee website false information concerning the detention by Investigative Committee officials of participants in a rally held in Moscow on May 6, 2015," the report says.

The report says the post "was immediately deleted from the official website, but references to it were published in various mass media."

"We are saying once again that the information is not true and for that reason we suggest that all media annul it. The information security service of the Russian Investigative Committee is now conducting a probe and is working on determining the source of the hacking," the document says.
