Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered that the Ground Forces equipment showcased at the May 9 parade in Moscow complete all tests as quickly as possible and go into serial production.

"Yet another topic is to create new Ground Forces weapons and upgrade the existing ones. Some of them were shown for the first time at the parade in honor of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War," Putin said at a Wednesday meeting focused on the development of the Russian Armed Forces.

He stressed that the tactical-technical characteristics of these weapons are noticeably superior to those of their western analogs and the equipment has by and large deserved the high praise from military experts.

"We need to complete all tests within the shortest possible period of time and proceed along with their serial production," Putin said.

It was reported earlier that prototypes of armored vehicles based on the Armata, Kurganets, and Boomerang platforms, the BMD-4M state-of-the-art amphibious fighting vehicle, and the Rakushka multirole armored personnel carrier were shown during the May 9 parade on Red Square in Moscow.
