The Russian Security Council has recorded a significant intensification of foreign technical intelligence activity, Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev said at a meeting in Astrakhan, Southern Russia, that focused on information security, in particular.
He said positive changes have taken place regarding information security personnel recruitment and data protection in the bodies of state power. The meeting will work out a number of specific instructions for Russia’s regions.
"I think their fulfilment in the conditions of burgeoning foreign technical intelligence is essential for national security," the Security Council secretary said.
